Blog: Next New
One of the new media can be created is creating a social media platform just like Twitter or Instagram, but it can only allow a comment that is positive. This social media platform can be called "PositiveA" standing for positiive for all people who are using this. This platform only allows the user to comment and praise for the other's positive side. No one will be allowed to post any negative or hateful comments or posts. This site is for those who are having a hard time in life to find something positive to look forward to. Also, a site where people find a place of belonging and happiness. Everyone on this platform will help one another by giving advice and encouragement. This can be a site to help save many to find comforts in life. In modern society, all social media platforms are filled with negativities and hate comments. It is extremely toxic. PostitveA will provide a peaceful, loving and positive environment for users to belong to. Nothing is better than receiving encouragement and love from others when he/she needed the most.

Blog: Wiki So Far
In the class Wiki, I had done some revision on some of the contents. I did some grammar correction and sentence structures. I have edited the Mass Media page on our class wiki. I also added a picture of the new media contents. I added a picture with all of the social media.
I did not add any new content towards our wiki page. This is what I will be focusing on throughout this week and next week. I think I will add new content in the Mass Media page to better relate to our class topic. This can be the influence of Mass Media. Also, I would like to add new content to the sports wiki. This is related to my term paper. I will talk about the Advantage and disadvantage of using social media in the NBA and its impact of its players.

Blog: P2P
File sharing is the transmits of the file to one or more people. It means that a person wants to share what he has across the internet and across by hand. It can be a document, a paper, music file or a written essay file. File sharing is what you have and share it with someone else.
P2P stands for peer to peer. It meant for giving something that a person has to another person. P2P file can be physically transfers of file or electrically. It happens when one person to share a file with someone else. The person can either physically handout the copy of the file, or he can also transmit the file through social media, email, downloads or websites. There are unlimited amounts of ways to share a file with today's technology.

One of the examples of P2P is lending a loan. According to the article "Peers find less pressure borrowing from each other" by Wendy Kaufman, it stated that in more recent days, it is harder to get a loan from the bank even if you have a good credit history. However, there is a new type of loan in the modern days. Where third party agent will get investors to provide loan to those who needed. This is an example of P2P, the loan is not provided by an agency or bank, but it is through another peer or person. It will have less restriction and limitation. It will have less interest rate for the loan.

Blog: Privacy
In today's world, internet security is one of the main concern. The reason for this is that almost everyone in the world was able to use the internet, and the internet can lead to different media platforms. And social media platforms are extremely vulnerable to a different security threat, like privacy and confidentiality. Hackers can use worms or virus to get access to your social media accounts and eventually find out about your name, date of birth and even address. Privacy and confidentiality are extremely hard to protect due to the high level of technology that we have today. Social media platforms can be an easy way for a hacker to get hold of your personal information and eventually take advantage of it. Either expose your identity through online or even identity theft. New Media had help hacker's to find a target more easily and giving hackers a platform to penetrate the privacy and confidentiality.
Blog: Advice
Baruch College should expand its social media platforms. Not just on Facebook, which I see it regularly. It should be expanded from Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram. Also, on Facebook, the follower of Baruch College FB page is not as high as I would expect it to be. Baruch College needs to get more followers and should post some different news daily. It is all about constancy and patient. Baruch College needs to use more of the flashing side of the Social Media Platforms. Should use more color picture and funny picture. Baruch College social media is extremely boring. It is lacking life and enjoyment. Which made Baruch College less fun.

Creativity and New Media
I have created an avatar in Second Life. This avatar does not represent or looks like me. This avatar was created through my imagination and creativity. I used this Second life platform to create an avatar with blue hair, small eyes, and a scar on the face. During this Second Life platform, I can use my creativity to create an avatar that I wanted to use. Through this platform, I can create an avatar that myself believe it was something that represents what I like. It lets me determine the type of hair, face, eyes, and colors of this avatar. It will also let me determine whether I want to display my avatar as a male or female. This let me explore a Second Life, a life that maybe deep down is who I wanted to be.

HW Creativity
New Media is a brand new way to foster creativity. During new media, anything can be accessed much easier and much more conveniently. Since new media can turn something from plain paper to digital, it provides opportunities for others to access that digital from frequently and modify that digital data easily. Anything can be accessed through digital can be modified and change much easier than plain paper. With easy access and modification, it means that anyone can express their idea and creativity on to that digital data. Like in the article "Disney Tolerates a Rap Parody of its Critters, By Why?" by Brooks Barnes. In this article, it stated that there is a YouTube video where someone turned Bambi, Simba, and Winnie the Pooh into rap stars. This is something new, something that had never happened before. It was a brand new creative way of playing as Bambi, Simba, and Winnie the Pooh. Without new media, no one can have a voice over this Disney video. We will never see a rapping Disney video. Anything new is creative. No matter what the outcome will be. With YouTube, many people can have the opportunity to express their creativity for others to see. It is a gateway for others to access the opportunity that they never had before.

Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds
There are many ways of using the virtual world. One way is to perform different types of training. For example, medical training. Doctors can perform surgical procedures in the virtual world to make sure that doctors can see the type of scenarios that might occur during the procedures. Doctors can also perform more practice in the virtual world to ensure they are perform trained before perform the surgical procedures on a real human. Another way of using a virtual world is to create a virtual game that is no longer limited to 2D and 3D. It can be a real virtual world game where everyone can feel it was real.
According to the article "After Second Life, Can Virtual Worlds Get a Reboot?" by Diane Metha, one example of virtual worlds is Minecraft. The pros of Minecraft is to help kids to exercise their imaginations and to also interact with others to build and create new things. It is a good exercising tool for young kids to really develop their imagination and explore their interest. One of the cons of virtual worlds is that even though virtual worlds can look real, but they cannot compare to the real world. It does not have the same textural and visual appearance as a real object. Which made it difficult for people to real exercise what they learn from the virtual world and execute in the real world. Like the surgical procedures, the virtual world cannot compare to a real human body.
One way that a virtual world foster creativity is that it can help you see something that you might never see in your life before. This can better foster a creative mindset by exploring new places or new environments. According to the article "The Virtual World Moves into the Classroom" by Joe Earle, classroom uses the virtual world to help students to go on a field trip that is far away. Students can be able to learn about the life of refugees and study the inner workings of volcanoes. Creativity came from experiences and what is better than using the virtual world to explore all over the places to gain more experiences.
I believe that everything will be in virtual reality like it appears in movies. Games, interaction, communication and even school will be in the virtual world. There might be a whole world that is made out of virtual reality.

Blog about Twitter
The Twitter discussion is much more convenient since you can see all the post within a single screen, rather than having to click on each person individually. Twitter can give you alert when someone comments on your post, where else the BlackBoard Discussion do not do that. It is much easier to interact with one another with Twitter. BlackBoard Discussion is much more robotic without any flexibilities. It is much more difficult to exchange opinions and comment on the Discussion board. However, In-class discussion is better than Twitter discussion since speaking is always faster than typing. The in-class discussion is the best way for any type of discussion. In-class discussion will take less time since everything is happening in real time, unlike Twitter where you have to say for some to comment or waiting for someone to reply to your message.
Blog: Social networking sites
Facebook - This is my favorite social media networking sites. It is where you can post any picture you wanted to share with your friends. Your profile can either be public and private. In Facebook, you can post your feeling, idea or opinion about something along with a picture. Facebook is a socializing platform, you can only see a post that you are friends with or the people that you followed. Facebook Messenger is my main source of communications with my friends. Which is extremely convenient for me. Facebook is extremely easy to use and easy to view the post that was posted by your friends.
Twitter - Twitter is more like a decision or information network site. It is a platform where you can twitter about everything. It might be the only platforms that help you reach out to a celebrity that you might not be able to reach with another social networking site. You can simply just @ at the username of the person you want to reach, and it will reach to that person's message box. Twitter is also a site where people can share their opinion about certain things and also can get a lot of feedbacks from twitter as well. It is also a way where you can communicate or share information with a variety of audience in a short period of time.
Linkin - This is a much more professional networking site. Where people post about their career and different experiences. This is where people can connect or network with different professionals from different background and fields. People can view your profiles and see what type of experience you have, the career path and which company that you are in. Linkin is a great tool for the search for jobs and searches up different professionals to connect with. This networking site is extremely professional.
Snapchat - Snapchat is much more of like a sharing daily life type of networking sites. It is where you post a picture or video about a specific moment that you wanted to share with your friends. You can post anything you want, and either can send it to a specific person or to a group of people. Some picture or video that was posted will last for 24 hours or only can be viewed once upon clicking it. This is a networking site to share daily life and a specific moment of a day.

Blog Social networking
Social networking is one of the biggest platforms in modern days. It is where you can freely express your opinion and ideas like out any restrictions. It provides a platform for people to interact without meeting up in person. Social networking is the modern way of communication and interaction, instead of interacting in person. According to Investopedia, "Social networking is the use of internet-based social media programs to make connections with friends, family, classmates, customers, and clients. Social networking can occur for social purposes, business purposes or both through sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn." Social networking is extremely important for interaction and communications among each out in today's society.
Social networking has many benefits. According to the article, "Advantages and Disadvantages of Social Networking," one of the benefits of social networking is worldwide connectivity. You can connect with anyone from your friends, teachers to even strangers with different social networking platforms. With these different platforms, anyone can make new friends, find new jobs, doing business to even find a loved one. This is the benefits of social networking, where anyone will be able to connect with one another throughout the world. Another benefit is real-tie information sharing. It let people exchange information in real-time through a chat. Which let people save more time by mailing those information. Since any information can be an exchange in real-time, nothing will be delay. There are also many dark side behind social networking. One of the most common ways is to expose to identity. With today's advanced technology, it is extremely easy for someone to completely find a person's background through social networking. This can create harm and danger for the person who got their identity being exposed in the social networking platforms. The exposure can be names, home address o even credit card numbers.
Social networking will only become bigger and bigger. It will become a daily necessity for each and everyone one of us like water. One day, social networking might replace in-person interaction and communications. It will become the only source of interaction with each other. One day, social networking will become something that us human can never live without. It will fully replace phone and mailing services.

BLOG: Blog v Wiki
There are some similarities between Blogs and Wiki and there are also some differences between these two. According to Wooster, one difference between these two is that Wiki is more of a collaboration type of post. It is for team support and having a team to create a wide knowledge base. Everyone can contribute to this web page. And anyone can edit or change this web base without the consent from the domain owners. Where else for Blogs, it is more of personal webpages. Where only the domain owners can edit and post different material to this web page. It provides limited collaboration. Also with a reverse chronological format. One of the similarities between Blogs and Wiki is that both are able to post different material for others to see.
It is convergence is extremely important in today's network because of the consumer's experiences. The consumer wanted every platform to exist in one domain because it is more convenient to use. No one wants to comment or watching a video in a separate platform, many people all wanted to exist in the same platform. It is more time-saving for consumers.
According to the article "7 Ways to Collaborate with Other Bloggers" by Growth Marketer, one of the way for the bloggers to collaborate is to do group projects. Where all the bloggers get together and decide on a project to perform. Like an eBook, then everyone produces their unique content then editors will fit all the content together. And all bloggers will promote that eBook on their website.
One way that I can think of is to create a game in the wiki. Like all the programmer come together and use wiki as a platform to code and use that code to create a stable game for any users to play on.

"The Impact of Social Media on the National Basketball Association and its Players"
Social media is what drives the NBA to its great wealth and fortunes. Social media was what separated the NBA from another major league because the NBA embraced social media, unlike other professional sports league. The NBA and its player used social media as a platform to spread their voice and increase their influence around the globe. I will research on how Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms had increased The NBA's wealth and popularity. Also to show how these platforms had help increased the voice of the NBA players and their popularity around the globe. I will be researching how the NBA had used social media to gain wealth and increased its popularity around the globe. And how the NBA players used the social media platform to increase their voice within the league and increased their popularity around the globe. I will also talk about the negative impact of social media on the National Basketball Association and its players. With how social media had impacted the image of the NBA and its players.
The approach I will be using is the search for Sports channel post about this topic and also reading basketball analysts blog post for this topic as well. I will also go to different social media to read about the post that was made by the NBA and its player to see what the reaction from its fans and audiences.
